Joseph Banks Medical Centre is a GP owned and run clinic. We offer the services of 8 regular doctors, all of whom have received specialised general practice qualifications completed in Australia.

Male Doctors:
- Dr Tahmeed Raheem
FRACGP B-BMED MD
Dr Tahmeed completed his medical training at the University of Melbourne in 2016 before gaining extensive experience in acute and internal medicine. He now brings that clinical depth to general practice, with a holistic, evidence-based approach to patient care. His areas of special interest include emergency medicine, chronic disease management and paediatrics. Alongside his GP work, he currently holds public appointments in Emergency Care and Obesity Management, reflecting his commitment to staying at the forefront of patient care.Outside of work, Dr Tahmeed enjoys keeping active, playing sport, and spending time with his young family.
- Dr Sam Guimmarra
MBBS, Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Dr Sam Giummarra graduated with a Medical Degree in 1975 and has
had over 40 years experience as a General Practitioner.
His particular interests are youth health, minor surgery, obstetrics,
immunisation and sports injuries.
- Dr Graeme Downe
MBBS (HONS) , Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, FRACGP
Dr Graeme Downe graduated with a Medical Degree in 1978 and has had over
30 years experience as a General Practitioner.
His particular interests are minor surgery, obstetrics, paediatrics and medical education.
- Dr Charles Hamilton
MBBS, Grad. Diploma in Social Science (Drug Dependence)
Dr Charles Hamilton graduated from Melbourne University in 1977.
He joined Joseph Banks Crescent Medical Centre in 2002.
- Dr Ivan Ng
MBBS, Post Grad. Diploma in Exercise Rehabilitation; Speaks Cantonese.
Dr Ivan Ng graduated from the University of Queensland, has a Post
Graduate Diploma in Exercise Rehabilitation. His special interests include
Sports Medicine, Exercise Physiology and Fitness Training as well as Acupuncture, both laser and needle.
Female Doctors:
- Dr Krysia Debicki
MBBS (Monash HONS), Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology RACOG; Speaks Polish
Dr Krysia Debicki graduated with Honors from Monash University, her particular
interests include antenatal care, women’s health issues, ear nose and
throat conditions and minor surgery.
- Dr Melissa Monkivitch
MBBS (Monash), Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology RCOG
Dr Melissa Monkivitch graduated with a Medical Degree in 1985 and has over 36 years
experience as a General Practitioner.
Her particular interests are women’s health issues, counselling, antenatal care,
allergy testing and minor surgery.
- Dr Imalka Wettesinghe
MBBS, FRACGP, Diploma in Child Health, Diploma in Dermatology; speaks Sinhalese
Has come to JBMC with more than 20 years of medical experience.
She manages all aspects of general practice with special interests in women and
children’s health, dermatology and chronic disease management.
- Dr Melissa Gomez
MBBS (Melbourne HONS), FRACGP
Dr Melissa Gomez completed her medical degree at Melbourne University in 2014.
She has since worked in different hospitals in metropolitan Melbourne before completing
her FRACGP training in General Practice. Her interests include Women’s Health,
Children’s Health and Preventative Care.
